ARTIST
STATEMENT
Life is full of moments of laughter, sadness, bliss, intimacy, heartbreak, and vulnerability. We want to cherish these moments for years and years to come.
That’s where I come in.
Hello. My name is Michelle and I am a freelance photographer.
I believe that photographs are best captured through natural and organic experiences, allowing for candid and unique images that express fleeting moments and events that gather, culminate, and remain perpetual throughout a lifetime.
I am constantly exploring interactions between my camera and the world around me to create my images and work on my craft. Exploring the world with my camera and observing is artistically inspiring. Moving my body and camera in response to these observations brings me closer to my work and influences creative flow. I return to my workspace feeling refreshed and inspired to begin the final part of the photographic process: the development and realization, in tangible form, of the photographic image.
As a designer, my goal is to create a unique and timeless products and services that best express and suit the needs of an individual, family, couple, business, organization, and/or company. My approach to this craft includes collaboration and emphasizes authenticity through typographic hierarchy and imagery. This is an ongoing journey where I continue to learn more about myself and what influences my art and design process.

MORE ABOUT ME
My Story
Hi again, my name is Michelle.
Pronouns - She, Her, Hers
I grew up on a small dairy farm in Northern Vermont. That farm has influenced my photography craft with my earliest subjects coming readily to the sound of fresh corn being shucked in my back yard.
I'm currently living in my home state of Vermont with my Husband, three cats, and two hound dogs. I continue to grow with my craft in learning about life alongside my lens. In my slow time you'll find me with my family and friends, attempting (again and again) crochet, playing with my camera, reading, candle-making, watching horror movies, and/or cooking.
I want to cultivate a life that is full of love and life - and to love well, be well-loved, and well-lived.
How did I get here?
Years of working in the human/customer service sector had left me feeling burned out - crispy, even. I couldn't keep up with "the grind" and decided to break from the mold in search of passion elsewhere. I went back to school. I accumulated more student debt. It led me here.
Persistent and unpredicted illnesses are a significant factor in my work and scheduling. I am stronger because of this. I will work alongside clients and collaborators in achieving creative outcomes.
I am on a never-ending and constantly improving, learning, adjusting, and embracing journey. It's a wild ride!
Do I have any schooling in design and media?
I received a certificate in Graphic Design and an A.A in Design & Media from the Community College of Vermont. In Fall 2021 and Spring 2022.
If you’d like to learn more about me, applicable credentials, and/or my work, please get in touch.
